Mak buys longiflorum breeding program

A new development in the world of lily breeding. As of February 1, 2011, Van den Bos Flowerbulbs agreed with Mak Breeding on the sale of breeding of lily to Mak Breeding. Bos Flowerbulbs thus further specializes in global trade of bulbs of lily, freesia and calla both the southern and the northern hemisphere.

with the acquisition of the processing division of Van den Bos Flowerbulbs Mak Breeding also have access to a wider breeding program in Longiflorums and LO (x Longiflorum Oriental), thereby expanding its capacity in the breeding process. It remains unchanged that the rights of existing varieties stays at Van den Bos Flowerbulbs.

Strong point for both parties is the clear that specialization. Mak Breeding and Van den Bos Flowerbulbs reinforce each other in the chain of processing and global marketing of lily bulbs.
